In "The Dunes Lake Superior Brewery" http://www.grandmaraismichigan.com/LSBC/ there is a model of the "LeClair Bros" It is rather breathtaking. It's no regular model. This thing is about 3 1/2 feet long and 18ins or so top to bottom.

A plaque beneath it says 'Captn John LeClair" and there's a picture of John LeClair next to it. I asked the waitress who was a native and knew John well, who was the craftsman who made this. She wasn't sure but said her mom might know. She called her mom and all she knew was that the guy was a crewman on the boat with John and he was sent to prison and that's where he made it. I stared at this work of art for a very long time. I still hope somebody can tell me his name. A work of art like this should have the name of it's creator with it.

I have several more pictures of it that I will post. They're from the stern and from the bow. Very impressive.
