That's a ways back. Great picture. must be a capture off of the old 8mm home movies. I'll bet my honky ass that one of those jumbo Whitefish was older than we were. I still love cigarettes and kicking Whitefish ass.

This is one from your recent lifts 12-2-2016. You can't make this shit up! Our gillnets with the maximun payload they're capable of.

I've lifted Chub gangs years ago that were so full that they floated but I've never heard of this, not even from the couple of guys who've been everywhere, done everything and exagerrate stories to absurdity (no names mentioned)

Here's a old Polaroid picture of the boat owned by my father for 32 years. Originally christened the McDonald Bros. out of the Burger boat yard and fished off Washington Island,by the original owners for around a decade. Then changed ownership and plied the waters off Sheyboygan Wisconsin for another decade and a half. Finally purchased and fished out of Baileys Harbor Wisconsin for 30 + years.I spent countless hours of my youth engaged in fishing and working the decks of her.I believe the boat is now owned and operated out of Bayfield, Wisconsin , but am not certain.??

I was recently invited along to get some photos by Lyle Voight . Lyle and his brother Larry fish the Burger Built Faith II out of Gills Rock and Sand Bay,Wisconsin.Owning docks on both sides of the Door County peninsula. The brothers are lifelong fishermen who started out working for their father Don fishing out of Frankfort, Michigan, where the family owned and ran a fish market for years. With changing laws and a few years of slow fishing, the Voights moved their operation back to Door County in the mid 70's.
The Faith II is a sturdy vessel. Being the only Burger built fish tug that I am aware of, that was built using 3/8' steel hull plate. The boat is powered by a 250 Cummins diesel and is equipped with all the modern electronics.

Here is one big ass Whitefish caught by me and my dad October 25, 1994. We were fishing float nets at the time and I don't even know how he got his big ass head into a mesh to be caught. He weighed in at just over 19 lbs.. To this day I wish we would have had him mounted.app.php/gallery/image/370 On a second note, check out the cat at the bottom of the photo. Looking like he'd like to get a taste of that fish..I'm thinking"Right you couldn't eat all that, even in a month".ha.

I like this action shot I took while we were lifting nets on March 19,2017. It was a dead flat day,so I got atop the boat and with some creative engineering managed to get this shot. My brother Gary trying to convince two whitefish it would be better for them in the boat,Ha.
