Great shot! I miss seeing the Mercury and Bob too. You're right. That guy was a true commercial fisherman right to the core of his being. He seemed to function at a whole different level than most men. A true Great Lakes bad ass.

Yes I had the great pleasure of working with him many times right up into his 70's. He had at least 10 generations of fishermen in his family and this vast amount of what i would call generational knowledge of Fishing. He had no use for the loran C on a boat, and only used ranges in clear weather and a compass,depth sounder and wristwatch in fog and everything else.And radar also.
